EDIT: Thanks so much for the DD! I really appreciate it, and it was certainly unexpected! Thanks to everyone who watched and favorited my work, it really means a lot!
This was the biggest project I had planned recently. I finally gave a setting for one of two turquoise moon cabs I recently purchased, so I am happy.
This piece gave me a few problems. I've never set a crescent cab nor have I ever made wire clouds before, so those were challenge factors. I worked on this piece off and on for about a week before I decided this weekend I'd sit down and do what I could to finish it. Surprisingly enough, I finished it. I guess you really can accomplish much if you put your mind to it.
My "vision" here was a night sky scene with the crescent moon peeking out from below some clouds, shown on the left. The "stars" are seen below that, sort of scattered in the sky, or in this case, the chain. The beads can also be seen as rain, I suppose. It's art, see it as you like! I encourage it, actually.
I used the turquoise cab, stardust beads in various sizes, sterling findings, and Argentium sterling wire to make this piece. I'm glad I found an excuse to use stardust beads. I've always wanted to use some... I also wanted to try making a piece with the main stone off to the side rather than in the middle of the chain instead of in the middle. I think this piece turned out rather nicely. I'm proud!
But for that same reason, I am kind of reluctant to let it go. Maybe I'll find the courage to let it go off on its own in the world one day. We'll see.
Thanks for looking!
