Description
Some people may recognize this opal from one of my earlier works, "Brilliant Fibers Opal" here: [link] Well I was really happy with the previous wrap except for one issue: The type of metal used. I hated how that gold plated was crappy quality, it turns really dark and looked hideous, it shouldn't be kept on a very beautiful opal. I wanted something better, so this time I stuck with gold filled and I angled the stone differently and changed the wrap a bit. And here it is, a cute little pendant almost 1 3/4 of an inch.
This is an Australian doublet opal, I named it after the fiber-like flashes of green on the surface. This opal also has colors like purple and a few spots of orange and red. I'm keeping this one with me because this stone I count as a long-time friend (due to the history I've had with it, I don't really know how to explain) and the fact that it's worth a bunch of money that most people wouldn't spend on a tiny pendant. I bet if I used the better camera a better picture would be taken, but I stick with my old-ish simplet camera, so this is the best pic I could take. I hope you all get the idea on how pretty the greens and purples are in this stone. Opals are so gorgeous!
Thanks for looking!
